Here is a testimonial from a previous participant from St. Catharine's last year:
Men, do you want to fulfill your ultimate purpose, growing in holiness and living your life for God? When I was trying to do that by myself, progress was slow and uneven. But when I joined the St. Joseph Society, I started committing to regular practices to grow in that life, together with the other guys. Taking on practices like daily prayers, scripture reading, learning about theology, and monthly confession, we slowly built up a rule, a shared discipline of life, a little like monks have. Each practice was something I could have chosen to commit to by myself, but somehow I never did. But doing it with a group of guys committed to each other, new practices came quite naturally. Some of them have been more challenging than others, but wrestling with them is where a lot of the growth happens. And we get to talk through our difficulties and encourage each other at our monthly meetings. In addition to the rule, it has been great just to get together monthly with the guys and get to know each other. Friends who care about each other’s faith and salvation are precious. Learn from the monks – join up and put your shoulder to the wheel of life’s true work. You can become the best kind of hero – a saint – to whom God will say, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
