LOVE IN ACTION MINISTRIES
ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY
Do you know your neighbor? We do! We get to know our neighbors in need by visiting them in their homes and accompanying them in their struggles. We listen to them, pray with them and offer assistance with basic needs such as food, clothing, rent and utilities. We accompany. We love. We Serve. Pray/Donate/Volunteer.

In February 2025, Fr. Matt and the Family Leadership Team were informed that the St. Aloysius Gonzaga St. Vincent de Paul conference would be merging with the St. Martin of Tours SVDP conference effective immediately. St. Aloysius’ SVDP conference has helped many people in their neighborhood for many years and we wish to express our appreciation to those who helped organize and lead this conference. Unfortunately, due to a lack of volunteers and funding, Pat Schlim, the St. Al’s SVDP leader announced the closure and decision to merge the territory with St. Martin’s SVDP.
Debbie Brunst, leader of St. Martin’s SVPD, is excited about this opportunity to join forces and wishes to extend an invitation to anyone from St. Aloysius parish who would like to help with St. Vincent de Paul, to please join the team! We are always needing volunteers.
In the past few weeks, St. Martin SVDP has begun receiving the calls for those in need within the boundaries of St. Aloysius SVDP territory. It is reported that there are about 10 calls per week in that area, compared to 50 calls per week in the St. Martin area. “It makes sense that we come together to help the people in our community. We have a food pantry and many opportunities to help the St. Aloysius neighborhood.”
Anyone interested in learning about or volunteering with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul can attend a meeting on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at 5:30 in Fr. Mick Hall or call Debbie Brunst at 513-661-0085. Many hands make light work. Everyone is welcome.
The St. Vincent de Paul Society works with the poor, the homeless, and those that are struggling financially. The members of the St. Vincent de Paul Society help our brothers and sisters in need by collecting and distributing food items through food pantries, go out to homes to assess utility or rent needs, and assist with food and clothing drives. This falls under the Beacons heading of "Love in Action". If you are someone who would like to help those that are in need of a helping hand, please fill out the form below and someone from one of the conferences will get back with you!
Our Tender Mercies group hosts monthly dinners to support Tender Mercies in Cincinnati. From the Westside to Over The Rhine, God’s loving work continues through this ministry. For more detailed information, please see our weekly bulletin.
